Singapore Botanical Garden
Singapore botanical garden beauty is simply beyond imagination. Set up by the Sir Stamford Raffles, the founder of Singapore and the true naturalists in the year 1822 for cultivation of economical crops, the Garden is today an important tourist attraction in Singapore. Closed in 1829 and then it was re-started in 1859 by an Agri-Hoticultural society, that park was later handed over to the government for maintenance.
More the 150 years garden is today visited by thousands and hundreds of tourist’s everyday to see the arrays of irresistible botanical and horticultural attractions. The park has great collection of varied species of flowers, plants of worldwide significance with rich history that offer wonderful opportunity for tourists to enjoy relaxed hours and hours of happy and fun time.
After managed by the several directors, the importance of this exotic garden is beyond comparison. The first rubber plantation was started from this garden and result was very successful and then this was practiced all over which in turn made Malaya become the world’s number 1 exporter of natural rubber.
